Problem - 1 slow account (1 Viewer)

Now that I have multiple accounts running, I have noticed 1 account seems to load slow, zone slower, do overseer slower. Once I'm in a zone and playing, everything is fine, just getting there is getting annoying.
I have tried to use overseer regularly and read that it could cause the issue.
Is there a area to review differences between? I have looked in my options window and matched 5 accounts and everything seems to be the same there, it also doesn't matter the order I load, if I run 3 accounts or just that account, its slow

There are a few post, overseers can slow a client, so can guild sizes, housing, parcels. EQ is a bit dated and has weird structure for data pulling. Turn off guilds, try not to have 1 char with all plots, check what they display for chat...

I have been on top of the chats, turn off filters and show only to where needed, I have a guild but maybe ill have to look into those plots, I didn't maintain that part of the game and I can see somehow that's a issue now, will keep looking and see, thank you

I would like a link to see how to clear log files, I have looked in that folder and worry I get rid of important files. I believe this is the issue I am having with game parse as well, I'm always top parser and that's incorrect lol, I have deleted and redownloaded it, with the same results happening

This has some good tips on deleting those files.

tbh I had a slow main for quite a while. Removed all houses and items in houses (boy that was a chore) cause the dev's said that is why that one character was slow. It made no difference. I put all the stuff back on him.

Then about 2 months ago he stopped being slow and moves and zones the same as the others. Who knows?

Disclaimer: * I know you are saying that the toon lags even when you log it in by itself but if you haven't tried fiddling with your settings I think it would be worth a shot and it's easy to change back *

I have been boxing 54 toons on Convergence. I had to change my settings multiple times and swap some toons to other PC in order to run smoothly.

When there was too much demand on my computer, people would be left behind or be delayed in following at the appropriate distance and then it was dicey if they would engage on the mob. When it was really bad, up to 8 chars wouldn't follow at all until I tabbed into their window then they were like oh, hi there! The interesting thing is it was always the same toons. Exactly the same INI as other toons with their class.

So it's possible that your 1 slow toon is a result of an overall demand on your PC that exceeds what it can perform perfectly. @aquietone has a post in the EMU section with suggestions on how to run more smoothly, you might start with whatever you think is the least impactful of your gaming experience and see if that catches your boy up with you.

Also, you said you matched all the options but you don't need to do that. You can log in 1 guy, lets say your driver toon, made adjustments to him in the EQ settings (Alt+O) as well as the Macroquest settings (EQ button in game, go to top, click Macroquest and then Settings) Then log him off and then autologin all your toons and the settings will be updated on everyone else.

This is likely hardware limited. Most of the time when people say "Well this one account" or "All other toons to this, except this one toon", it is because maybe frame limiting isn't being used, or you need to use a CPU allocation strategy. Or, maybe even reduce graphics settings.

Sometimes though, it is just as simple as one setting that is different with one account vs. the others. Go setting by setting and make sure everything is the same. I have had too many times where multiple accounts are good, then one account suddenly develops an issue because a setting got changed inadvertently. Invariably, I exclaim "Oh my gawd..." after I find it and change it back.

I am sure you will find it....

For the record, I just want to say that some characters definitely do load slower. Specifically speaking, my newer set of characters will load noticeably faster than my older set that I've done a ton of stuff on. I've tested this with no outside factors on a good computer that doesn't have any issues loading or playing the game. They spend more time in loading and experience hangs more often. I regularly clear my logs, all characters are running MQ2FrameLimiter while in the background, both sets are configured very similarly, and I don't have any other issues other than slightly longer load screens. I've just always assumed that it had to do with their server-side character files being significantly larger paired with a thousand years of spaghetti code in EQ.

Not to say that is what is going on here, but if the character that is loading slower is one you have done a lot more content and unlocks with then that might be a factor.

items in your bank and on your housing plots will increase your zone times because the client has to check every single item on every single zone change as part of it's Lore item conflict check. New characters that don't have lots in bank and housing will load faster. It also reads your guild roster on every zone change, so be sure to have "show offline members" NOT checked. This can be especially bad if you are in one of the mass invite guilds that just invites thousands of characters and never purges their roster of people that haven't logged in for several years.
