Long time player here. Looking to expand my horizons. I’ve been alt tab boxing for years after boxing on multiple pcs through Kunark, Scars of Velious and so forth.

My frustration with alt tab boxing has always been with trying to box 2 characters that are ABC (Always Be Casting). Tabbing between them is dps murder and boxing SK/Monk can even be touch and go if running without a healer. Dropping SK tapping even long enough to get the monk burning could be fatal.

RGMerc seems like it would be perfect for that scenario or even on the occasion I run all 4 accounts.

Guessing I would want to move into the far more customizable options once I get things set up but I am curious how well RGMercs works running multiple ABC classes?

What do you expect to hear, that it sucks? ;)

Try it and see dude. Some rough spots in some configs still (mostly at lower levels), and if you are at 100+ I would definitely recommend you use the configs discussed in this post if your class is covered, but I've run just about every class with it (all minus RNG) in half a dozen combinations.

Also, for the record, RGMercs Lua is just as, if not more, customizable than pretty much anything out there.

One caveat that I will add is that the script functionality is aimed at a group, meaning, oddball duos aren't as fully tested/accounted for. There may be some small issue because of that (not to say it won't work fine).

That would be like going to the Apple community and asking if Iphone was any good - except those people are straight up zealots.

I would be happy with something that just allowed me to mash my buttons and have them touch all accounts at once. Having all my spam keys or macros on the same lines across characters. Along with the follow features and facemob type of features

I'll have to get level 2 and check out the postings there

Thanks for the reply!

You won't need mercs for most anything you listed, it is full automation.
However, broadcasting buttons (and a better set of buttons) sounds right up the alley of a core MQ broadcasting plugin and a popular button addon. Add a chase script from another author and you'd be golden.

I still think you'll find the automation makes playing all 4 at once a breeze, however!

The gameplay does not necessarily become easier, but the scope of the decisions you make changes. You get to see the forest from the trees and your input becomes more strategic. Or, hop in and drive the tank with a little more manual control, and have the boxes act like... Well, what mercs will never be.

You have enough red cents to go buy level 2. Keep in mind its up to you to continue your red cent journey.

The level 2 also gives you the ability to give others Red Cents for good or helpful or funny posts. It does not cost you any to give and in giving them out it will also earn you more.

If you make posts that others find funny, helpful, good question etc then they will give you Reds and that is 10 each time. So it is a good thing to come here and post now and then.

By passing out and earning these "red Cents" you can use them to keep up your free level 2 each month. Just stop by the RedCents shop - click the Redcents at the top of the page to go there.

It only takes 50 red cents a month to stay level 2 so that is super easy since you can give out 4 a day.

RG mas been amazing since i have come back. there's a ton of adaptability in the Ini Files. once u take some time and watch the videos, look through some of the online chatter about various issues and problem solving etc, and learn a bit about it behind the scenes, u can really get it going. I don't know about RG mercs but everything I've ever heard has been very good. some key points, remember what is in the file, isn't necessarily on your toon. go through every line... yes take the time to do this, cut out things that don't exist for your character, simple things like rank 2 spells/abilities. for example. clickies, etc etc. get this fine tuned to exactly what you have and it becomes even better. make sure u don't make typos... they are the bane of all that is holy.

You can look through the prioritization of what is cast at what time or % etc. adapt that to your play style as well. If you are working less than a group, remember you can still develop synergy between toons by doing things like this. it might take a bit of time and there's also the learning/relearning curve but in the end you will have an amazing experience here.

Also doesn't hurt that this community is straight up balls. guys like chat and sic are awesome. there are others as well heh. the joe blows like me are also pretty good people too. i never see any trolling issues etc, only help and more help, and sometimes something funny in the posts.

This is a very inclusive, welcoming site with great people and a huge database for everyone to use.

anyway, running on like usual... best of luck, hope you get it all sorted out, use the people here as needed, they are more than happy to help.

WB!
