Question - Back to newb status - Are a lot of suspensions and bans still happening? (9 Viewers)

I was considering getting back into EQ, last year I had 6 accounts banned so I took a long break.

Is it still the same as it was as last year?

If not, then I can work on getting lvl 2 status back and start the grind again!

Thanks all.

we have a suspension mega thread for all discussions related to suspensions and tinfoil shit.

but yes, dbg still has "cheat detection" on their agenda which they publish every year

you should play if you want to play.

currently there is no "one cool trick" and their current means/methods of asserting "3rd party cheats" isn't known

Assume that you can and will eventually be suspended/banned. From what I've seen they know who has MQ loaded then run a script to hit X of the population at random. They can tweak the script to target enforcement based on criteria like what server , if you are F2P, etc.

It's like life itself. Resign yourself to the fact that you will be eliminated at some point and then enjoy the rest of the ride. We all have the specter of death hanging over us, but we don't go around day to day fearful of stepping out into the street - we just live. So, play, enjoy it and when the end comes just know your time was up. Perhaps you can restart (reincarnation in my analogy?) a new crew. For me, when I'm baninated with the giant DBG ban hammer in the sky, I'll walk away with 20+ years of great memories. No fear.
