They've swapped it around a bit. In May there was talk of changes to be implemented into the combat system.
Casters
There's supposed to be the spell damage bonus, which is based on the difference between the caster's intelligence vs. the target's wisdom.
Melee
There's also supposed to be a bonus applied to melee damage, based on the attacker's strength vs. the target's agility.
And, there's also a factor of weapon type and quality (Handcrafted, Treasured, Legendary, Fabled, Mythical).
