Just a quick question, is it "legal" [allowed i guess] for a member to win to monthly polls? and in a row? I was looking through the EQ2 section, and I was the only post with a 5 star rating in november... but i had won october's vote as well...

In the past, I think some people have won more than once. Not everyone was happy about it, but we want contributors to get rewarded. In the other forums, it becomes a pretty exciting competition as well. So yeah, we've even had multiple winners, and repeat winners.

Mr. Bot is adding something new to enable members to get cool stuff, yet again. Check out the Red Cents.

You are given one Red Cent per day, learn how to spend it wisely!

Whenever you read a helpful post, I'd like you to pay the author back. You will see this button under their name:

Click it, and they will receive your shiny Red Cent for the day. Or if you didn't like the post, you can charge them a Red Cent. You are kept anonymous (except from admins.)

If someone posts a good strategy, give them a Red Cent. If someone answers your question in the Q&A forum, show your appreciation.

You can see how many Red Cents you've recieved by checking the main page of your profile. If you don't see anything under "New Subscribed Threads" you haven't recieved any Red Cents yet.

This is in testing right now, but I still want to reward people who receive a good amount of Red Cents. They can expect a late christmas present around December 26th, which can range from a month's membership on Redguides to an Ipod to one of these little USB-drive keychains:

The monthly rewards will continue as normal, Red Cents are just a little extra. If you make a good post, it's ok to remind people to give you Cents.


Rules:
Don't give Red Cents to worthless posts (though you can give negatives for them), don't leave flames as comments, and don't team up with friends to cheat the system. Admins can track every Red Cent easily, and temporary bans will be handed out to anyone abusing the system as well as cents taken away.

In other words, don't be a jerk. Use the system for the reason it was made, to reward good posts.

its a GREAT idea in essence, but too hard to keep track of
people will get into little negotiations with each other, false compliments will be made, and so forth, i had brought up my issues with mr bot and he responded quickly

for rewards, is it possible to "trade"... say someone won, but they wanted plat. Can they ask for the price of a DS in plat? maybe like 14 plat? LOL

also, another comment, will this be done on a section scale? or forum base? because it seems to me someone in a more active section will be more prone to cents... and you should figure out a way to keep redcents posted, maybe a marquee or something like the sports ticker thingys, make it more competitive... sorry for bad grammar, its late, and i cant see my punctuation marks

Cade is correct. This weekend, I'll be combing through every helpful thread to make the poll, and anyone who makes a helpful post, at the very least gets an honorable mention.
