I get this, all the time, literally every time I use RedGuides/MQ. I play for a couple hours, my clients start to get laggy and bog down, then bam, crash. Never fails. Any ideas?

I've made all of those suggestions. Still crashing all the time. I am 3 boxxing and 2 of the 3 clients crash and it's never the primary client. Primary meaning the one I start first. It does just fine. It's always the other two clients. Any other suggestions?

I'm making the assumption that your EQ clients are running out of memory. Search these forums for threads related to minimizing RAM usage per EQ client. Corollary would be to reduce overall RAM usage on your computer too by doing a PC tune up and/or debloater. Could also have something to do with your specific graphics settings and/or driver. Not much info to go on from your posts so far.

3 clients + MQ should reasonably run in around 12G of RAM - Does your computer equal/exceed this amount? Also might check to see if any/all of the clients are doing logging - those files get really big, and can cause your computer to start seriously lagging. If you are logging, in order to use eqlogparser/GINA, make sure you are using the log management features in those programs to keep the log file sizes down to something reasonable - GINA allows you set pretty much any size - 20MB is enough for a day or two of play, EQLogParser has a 25MB setting, so about the same. Giving folks some idea of what your system is like will help a great deal in terms of figuring out possible solutions.

can you just 100% confirm you did this
  • Use 4gb patch on the RoF2 client exe (eqgame.exe)

I thought I had, but I just redownloaded everything to start over from scratch and it appears the EMU server is not compatible with the 4bg patch.
My understanding of the patch is that it allows you to use more resources on your computer that get artificially limited. I don't see how a private server would know that you have "too much memory" available to run an exe file. If it wasn't working when you were trying it, it's likely that the game was running. Try patching "eqgame" with nothing loaded - should work just fine.
