This is the story about an unemployed World of Warcraft gamer who while taking a shit, drops his iPod down the toilet of an airplane. The flight attendants thought it was a bomb

"An unbelievable story about a fellow who plays WoW, and went to meet some Guild friends in Canada. The short of it all, he loses his iPod in the airplane lavatory. Hilarity ensues."
Despite the descriptive yet pointless story about brush with the law and the Tucker Max style of writing while taking a mile-high dump, there was one gaping problem with his story.
This MOFO was unemployed.
For those of you that are professionals, a student, or even in school working at McDonalds part-time, you understand what it means to work. A person's social status is ultimately determined by their job. This is because of the hierarchical pyramid of working classes starting from student, semi-prof, prof, expert, leader.
When you hear someone say they're a doctor, you automatically think they're smart. I mean they have to be. To become a doctor you have to go through 10 years of school. When someone says their lawyer, you think they're smart as well. Firefighter; a well-respected profession. When someone says their unemployed though, most people ask why. Some people get laid off because of cut-backs or were fired. Some people are "in between" jobs, which is a shaky story for being a lazy bastard. When someone says that their just flat out not working, one thing goes through my mind immediately:
- Are you a loser?
Drug dealers who are by society's standards "unemployed" with a legitimate job have code words they use to say they work. Stuff like a "consultant", or a "contractor that moves around a lot". They don't say their unemployed. That's like saying they have no balls.
What's even worse is that this guy who wrote this story that is unemployed is playing WoW. He has no money so how in the hell is he getting to Canada to go bone a friend of his? Can you say "mommy's tit"?
People's worth is in what they do for a living. If you play a video game 40+ hours a week, and are PAYING to play you are retarded. Stories like these hold no merit because the person behind the writing has already been considered a loser before the last sentence was ever finished. That's like reading a biography about a bum who lived on the street for 14 years, and still does. Achievement in life isn't about how well you ran a guild on a video game or forgot your ipod fell out of your sweaty fat ass. That type of shit doesn't fly on a resume.
The Advice Column:
You know those little motivational messages that flash every time you log into WoW saying "maybe you should take a break" or "invite your friends to Azeroth, but don't forget to hang out with them out of Azeroth"? Take the creators advice and go do something other than hitting asdw for 8 hours.
Oh, and get a fucking job so your parents don't have you pay the MMO bill. You can have them focus on more important things like folding your laundry.
