Guess what. The basic tradeskill items, (Fossil Temper) are being sold on Refuge Island right now.
As you probably know, you can't get these from the brokers in the tradeskill instances anymore. The cost to buy stacks of them on newbie island are very low (copper), and you can trade them through the shared bank, and sell them on a broker. On some servers, they sell for 1.5 to 2 silver.
