IRL - Pet Focus still on back-slot? (2 Viewers)

I have seen (https://www.redguides.com/community/threads/equiping-mage-pets.74528/) 4-6 year old references by 2 people saying that summon focuses live on the back-slot of the pet and to not equip back items.
is this still a thing? I am playing on a TLP with a level 60 bst pet spell (level 46 pet) and a tower focus ear (levels pet to 48).

• I see no gear on the pet when i do /pet inventory check
• my pet does not lose any level/dmg/hp/etc when i equip a useless back piece on him

can anyone confirm if this is possibly a higher level focus effect or maybe an old way focus used to work?

The OP's question is "do you need to give your pet a back item, if you have EM (whatever)*.. modern game it matters, at level 60 TLP, I dont think EM gives them gear, just like a 5% stat boost.. I dont play TLP, so not sure if the effects from modern things got back ported to that fidelity..

Also, IRL they have EM items? sweet mama! (lol wrong area to post)

/pet inventory check is correct. I don't think items start pre-equipped until SoF+, but I could be mistaken.
