I currently have 5 accounts, so when I need to form a raid I would put all 5 in it, camp 1 out and load an alt from that account, add it to the raid, then camp it out and return to the main character for that account. This way I had 6 people in the group and could start the raid.
While using MQ2, the second I go to character select screen, that account is automatically dropped from the raid/group. This means I can't have more than 5 characters in a raid formation at any one time, no matter how much switching back and forth I do. I've also noticed that when I camp and go to character select screen, the macro I set up to select that instance of EQ stops working. My current theorized workaround (things to do this morning; will try it later tonight) will be to log all 5 accounts into EQ manually, set up the raid, request the instance, enter the instance, then camp all 5 to desktop and re-load using RedGuides like usual and proceed to gang (g)rape the Elemental Planes so I can finally cross that damn thing off my bucket list.
Now, is this just a fundamental part of MQ2 that is either an unwanted feature (for me) or an unanticipated side-effect? Or is there some setting that exists that I am admittedly unaware of that needs to be changed? I absolutely REEK of "FNG" using this; so far, the best "automation" I've managed is to setup macro hotkeys on my main character to broadcast to individuals or the group as a whole to engage and deal with mobs, and lemme tell ya, it's 10,000% more efficient than trying to ALT+TAB between 5 different windows, especially when you keep forgetting how many times you need to ALT+TAB to get to which one. For the hotkeys to switch to a particular EQ window alone, MQ2 would totally be worth it; maybe someday I'll learn how to script KA or RGMercs for my particular setups and be able to fully automate their behavior according to my OCD anal-retentive whims, but for now, I'm happy with baby steps.
So...am I missing something, or do I just have to handle raid setups differently?
