There is a quest that you can get from Candaith, who resides northwest of weathertop, at the foot of the mountain. The quest is part of a chain quest that begins with this guy. It has been some of the funnest quests that I have done yet. They are for levels 20 & up.
The retake Weathertop quest is an instance, and you must travel. Make sure to take plenty of peeps because the quest is pretty hard.
The exploit comes at the final boss. Once you reach the top of weathertop mountain, you will be in a hallway. The hallway leads directly into the top part of the mountain. To be able to fight the boss, you must ALL go inside the room. The room however does not close in on you, so there is always a passageway out. The trick is that whenever you are fighting the boss, and you see that your team is falling apart and that you are about to be defeated, to run back out of the room. If the boss if following you, he will only go as far as the entrance, and then reset.
The good thing about this is that you can retreat and regather yourself as well as stay alive. The bad thing is that it does reset the boss. So, make sure that you do this only if you are in a very tough bind and about to lose.
If you are winning the fight, make sure to stay in the room, otherwise, when you pull aggro outside, he will reset, and thus make the fight longer.
This is working as intended, however, one can still take advantage of it.
