Yesterday I went to a hospice to say goodbye to my friend Andy as he passed from this world.

We have been brothers as long as I can remember. We joined the military together, we played football together. And we raised all kinds of hell together when we were young.

To see him so thin and week days away from death at my age 54 unable to speak like the last time I saw him just days before.

I said to him you dirty bastard if you are going to die you better say hello to Tupac for me.

Then I reached down and kissed his forehead and said I love you brother, I'll look after Teri your Sister. You rest you've fought hard enough.

Sorry for your loss Rob, glad you got to say goodbye.

My condolences go out for anyone who has lost loved ones this time of year.

Although it has been a few years my son, brother, mother and dad all passed in December (different years) and it takes a long time to dull the pain with the constant correlation between Christmas and losing loved ones.

May we all live long and prosper.

Thanks to everyone who posted. To RedMonkey my dear friend I'm so sorry I made a difficult Christmas even more difficult for you. I am embarrassed and ashamed. And even if you forgive me. I'll never really forgive myself.

I am sorry for you loss Rob.

And you are very right when you say it's so hard to see someone that was once full of life withered away to nothing but a shell of their self.

I lost my sister July 15 she passed away from Cancer as well a battle she had fought and won once but it came back in her lungs they gave her 6 years and she lasted a little over that. Feb she had a stroke from the meds she was taking to help fight the cancer and it was all down hill from there she went right in to hospice and watching her over her last 5 months was very hard to do.

So again i'm very sorry bro.

I am so sorry for your loss my friend. I wish I had words to help but those words don't exist. However If you need someone who gets it to just listen. Let me know. I lost my Mother to lung cancer 25 years ago July 1st. I'll listen as much as you need to talk.
