Hi all

Recently, I utilize the Persona feature to build a new group, SK / ENC / DRU / WIZ / MAG / NEC, my DRU is 125 with 53902aa and full tradeskill armor suit. I found the DRU is so easy to be low on mana and group has to wait.....am I doing anything wrong or that's just the weakness of DRU?
 
If the DRU is your sole healer, then I would lay off a bunch of the debuffs and dps. Been awhile since I played live but you have the druid doing basically all the dps it possibly could and healing. If you're killing fast, drop the dots. If you're killing really fast, drop the nukes too. There should be a video put out by @Sic detailing what each of those checkmarks do, would be worth the watch if you haven't already done so.

Edit: Probably want to take melee off and try just being mounted, if you want to do damage then set your minimum mana to dot/nuke way higher so you only jump in when you're still in good standing.

Their DD and DoT spells are very mana intensive. If your doing that a few times a fight can easily use half a mana bar on a single mob. Managing mana on a druid has always been tricky. On the other hand their heals are not as much mana and should be able to heal with no mana issues. If your doing both main healer and using dps/debuff, your mana will NOT last at all.

Druid is fine where he is at composition wise. Good support for the rest of the party. SHM would also work well in that spot if you *did* want to change, but to be clear I don't think it's really warranted unless it makes you happy!

In short, they just suck mana down like no tomorrow to DPS.

With my personal config (mercs Lua), I just manage their mana to dot and mana to nuke on trash, use GoM procs as able, and let them go wild on named. It seems like MQ2Druid does something similar and is likely already close to ideal.

So in short, it's not just you!
 
I agree with the above. If your druid is the main healer (insert snarky comment) they need to concentrate more on heals than DPS. I have come across the same issue with I try to run my druid in a group. Unless you have an insane mana pool, and regen, doing everything a druid can do, you are going to run out of mana.

Sorry about the "snark", I have mained a cleric for over 23 years. I would never recommend a druid as main healer. But that is just me!
 
With your current make up, the dru and nec are already likely struggling to spool up big numbers on trash mobs. I'd peel back in the areas others have mentioned aside from named burns (when your sk will be self healing with epic anyway) and let the other casters put in the work.
 
I would turn off all dots, unless your group DPS is terribad, mobs will be dead before those dots start returning a good DMG for mana ratio (as mentioned by others). You can sit, modern game relies on OOC medding, that 0.1% mana a tick, wont matter. You can also get the https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=127587 and a https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=171556;source=lucy and the aug that returns mana on proc (lvl 90, forget name atm). That will give you some more mana recovery. Use mod rod often and early (and bear) so that the can be back up sooner (dont wait to 20%, use at like 70). Your necro has a group mana regen tap, but it has a slow cast time, and a 66 second cool down, so only useful on longer fights (will return 2500 mana a tick for 60 seconds though).
 
This may not be specifc to OP's dilemma but for those automating otherwise, GoM procs on Nature's x Wrath line definitely seem worth it, as it is a "DoT" but has a large upfront portion and short duration. Still incredibly expensive outside of that, but worth using when you are going ham for whatever reason.
 
On my Druid I use the BYOS feature in the mq2druid plugin. I can then have multiple spell line-ups depending on how I want my druid to perform. i.e. My normal lineup has only wrath so no other dot is cast.

This does not cure all mana issues but it allows my druid to last longer than if I use the default settings.

Also have you updated the AddClicky tab in mq2druid so your druid uses stuff like Unified Phoenix Feather and Crusader's Tonic when needed (provided you have them). For the Unified Phoenix Feather I have each team member setup to use the feather at different times. i.e. Druid has feather in Mana Self and other team members have it in Downtime, Defensive, Offensive or Health Group depending on class. its not perfect but should allow multiple feathers to fire every 10 mins.
 
Druid will run low on mana with your config even if you had bard/beast/enchanter in that group to support it :P Turning off DOTs and nature AA nukes works for me, but I have a bard and a bst in the group to help pump mana. Even then, I've given up on the druid and moved to cleric.
