Nothing annoys me more than browser pop-ups...or a browser window popping up without my consent from ANY software. My computer, my internet connection, my house, my rules...period

How to disable the annoying browser pop-up after exiting out of an EQ F2P account. (Nothing more f*cking annoying than 24 tabs opening up)

1. Open Microsoft Defender/Security (usually in the taskbar by the clock) Click on App & Browser Control

2. Click on Exploition Protection Settings

2.PNG

3. Click on Program Settings
3.PNG
4. Click on Add Program to Customize

4.PNG

5. Select the Everquest folder...usually some where in the Steam folder.
5.PNG

6. After adding the EQGame.exe scroll down until you see Do Not Allow child Processes. This prevents eqgame.exe from starting other processes...such as the browser.
6.PNG

7. This works even if you run another AV/Security software, unless you disabled or uninstalled Microsoft Defender/Security. I run Comodo Internet Security and I can also use the HIPS rules to prevent EQGame.exe from running child processes.

My computer...my rules....NOT DBG.

Wouldn't this block other things you WANT to work? Like some marketplace actions (requiring cc CCV code for example) or opening outputfiles from within the game? Idk what else, the browser is annoying, but I wouldn't want to block other things unintentionally.

I don't know. It would block the browser from opening. If you needed to pay for something you can temporarily disable the blocking.

Will this also stop the pop up in game?

That is the annoying one which I just minimize now to keep it from popping every 15 min, the browser redirect on camping out only brings up one window one time so I can live with that

Nice work!

Easy.Lua takes care of that poop-up and a lot more

No this will not affect the pop-ups in game. I run 24 characters and it pops up 24 tabs.

Just FYI blocking child processes may affect some future functionality we want to incorporate into MQ. If we ever get there, and things fail, remember this thread :)

Or you guys could just start blocking it with the plugin again :)

I just changed my default browser to chrome and delete the chrome.exe after that open notepad and save as chrome.exe move the file to the chrome folder.
