Same problems for me also. Self buffs being cast over and over again and melee toons not sticking to mobs.

RQ can you confirm this compile was created with MQ2 Latest Source Zip Last updated: January 18 2007 20:26:09 (MQ2-20070118). ?

Seems the previous version is screwing up spell casting.

It's the 1/17 zip.

And exactspeed works for me, as well.

ah k. Anyone know if it`s likely to be updated with the 1/18 zip?

Re: RedQuest v5.1 (1/17/07 patch)

Probably in a day or so. RQ is probably enjoying his weekend, lol.

Re: RedQuest v5.1 (1/17/07 patch)

For those crashing, try patching eq. I've made that error before..

Re: RedQuest v5.1 (1/17/07 patch)

The following plugins aren't included in RQ, and may cause it to crash when used. I'd recommend deleting those entries and trying to load in.
Rich (BB code):
mq2superduperreallyghettospeed=mq2superduperreally  ghettospeed Use MQ2ExactSpeed
mq2mission=mq2missionThis plugin is a ban waiting to happen
mq2csum=mq2csumThis is part of MQ2Pax!

mq2cgank=mq2cgankThis is part of MQ2Pax!
mq2rezzy=mq2rezzy
mq2camp=mq2campWhat are you using this plugin for? If it's to instantly camp, you can easily do the same by typing the command "/keypress instant_camp".

OK is it broke or is Pax not working... was a part of MQ2Pax last I knew

Rich (BB code):
/open - Open targeted chest/object
/gank - pick up item that has been targeted with /itemtarget
/hailtarget - hail your target from anywhere inzone.
/saytarget - say anything to your target from inzone.
/sumcorpse - Summons targetted corpse to your feet. (Must have consent)

Re: RedQuest v5.1 (1/17/07 patch)

Thank you very much Z
I just need a way to put a small delay between the interrupt and alt activate,
I tried using /delay 5 , but no change.
Stopcast works with no delay, but interrupt must have a short durration that is blocking the next command.
Thanks again.

Re: RedQuest v5.1 (1/17/07 patch)

--If you are looking for MQ2Csum, MQ2Copen, MQ2Hail, or other packet plugins that you want, and can't find them, they ARE there. Go look at the info for MQ2Pax. If you STILL can't find a plugin of that sort in the compile, then post in the thread.

--Updated offsets for Radar, thanks thez
--I looked around for issues with MQ2ExactSpeed, and couldn't figure out a way to make it crash. If you are still having issues, make a post containing your zone, speed you were trying to set, and plugins loaded at the time.

Re: RedQuest v5.2 (1/17/07 patch)

I'm having an issue with the version of exactspeed that I compiled from your source, but it runs fine with your precompiled version. PS. I'm not running RQ either, I'm using the one I compiled from the macroquest site.

Has your source been updated w/ the code that you used to compile RQ? I'd assume that you just zip it up and upload it, but maybe I'm mistaken.

Here's my exact problem:

I load the plugin and tyep /speed 250. The plugin returns Set to .... just the way that it does for the RQ compiled one. but I'm not actualy moving any faster

I've tried in Guild Lobby (works fine with RQ version) I'm kindof at a loss.

Thanks for any help you may be able to provide:

Re: RedQuest v5.2 (1/17/07 patch)

First question, do you use MQ2Preventspeed? Having that loaded/active would prevent you from moving faster than normal.

The source code is always updated. Have you tried just DLing my source and compiling tyhe whole thing?

Re: RedQuest v5.2 (1/17/07 patch)

Nope, here's my plugin list.

mq2itemdisplay=mq2itemdisplay
mq2custombinds=mq2custombinds
mq2fps=mq2fps
mq2map=mq2map
mq2bzsrch=mq2bzsrch

mq2moveutils=mq2moveutils
mq2cast=mq2cast
mq2exchange=mq2exchange
mq2melee=mq2melee
mq2cursor=mq2cursor
mq2dps=mq2dps
mq2rez=mq2rez

then of course I /plugin mq2exactspeed while in game.

I'll try compiling the whole thing from your code I guess, are we allowed to talk about where to go for a 'home thread' for mq2exactspeed? I don't see a thread here and since it's an active hack, I'm sure it's not on the mq2 site )

Re: RedQuest v5.2 (1/17/07 patch)

Is anyone else receiving .vcproj errors when compiling from the v5.2 uncompiled source?

Re: RedQuest v5.2 (1/17/07 patch)

Me and some of my friends are having a problem with objects not showing up in MQ2map (example eggs in DoN Missions) . They show up fine with the copy I compile from MQ but not on the copy I get from here any way that can be fixed so we can use the plugins we get from here to do missions with.. There is a thread in the ViP area about objects being incorrectly identifed in earlier copies of the code..

Thank you ..

Re: RedQuest v5.2 (1/17/07 patch)

Beardog -- There is no reason that should be happening, but I'll check.

Ominous54 -- What plugins do you have loaded? Please post your Macroquest.ini file!

Re: RedQuest v5.2 (1/17/07 patch)

All better now. Looks like my old HUD was doing it as surprising as that may sound.

Re: RedQuest v5.2 (1/17/07 patch)

Still having some issues with MQ2Radar. Since you have been including it in your compile I've had some issues with it. The DLL in your zip is only 112kb, and when I load the one you have up, I don't have anything but the basic lines of the map on the radar, not even other targets or the ring that is usually around the radar.

Under version 4.xx, I just downloaded the one linked in the makers thread about it, which the DLL was over 400kb. With that loaded it worked fine. Your fix has MQ2Radar working in 5.2, but again all I get is the basic lines of the map. I have no other non-default plugins running, and I'm running the DSurface included with the zip file, so version 0.111.

EDIT/UPDATE:
Odessa updated the compile of MQ2Radar and is listed on page 8 of THIS thread. Works perfectly now. Since I haven't taken a look at the source code of the Redguides compile yet, I'm not really sure where there is a variance of over 300kb. Could some of the .bmp files not be included in RG's pre-compile? That would make sense as to why only some of the stuff is showing up, but most of it isn't.

I CTD at random times using RQ 5.2. I had same problem with RQ 4.1, 4.2 and 5.1. Have only default plug ins running. Will be moving around or clicking on something and CTD.If I try running a tradeskill macro it will happen when I end the macro. Have done complete file check but still have problem. does not happen with RQ not running

Re: RedQuest v5.2 (1/17/07 patch)

That is a very weird and, unfortunately, nonspecific bug. What macros crash you?

Re: RedQuest v5.2 (1/17/07 patch)

I crash on different macros, not any one appears to be the culprit. sorry if previous post wasn't posted right. Thanks for you assistance. Thankful for your great work even with minor isssues.

Re: RedQuest v5.2 (1/17/07 patch)

Quisnos:

What are the specs on your computer? Brand, processor, RAM, video card, etc.

Also, what virus scanner are you using, if any? If your not using one, perhaps you have a virus.

Do you have any problems running any other programs?

When was the last time you did a defrag?

Re: RedQuest v5.2 (1/17/07 patch)

I think I'm in love. now i just have to not be retarted and get banned. oh i cant wait lol. right after dinner i'm going nuts.

Re: RedQuest v5.2 (1/17/07 patch)

have defragged, disabled virus scanner, new gforce 6600 video card . pentium 3.6 over 1 gig of ram

thanks

Re: RedQuest v5.2 (1/17/07 patch)

Sounds like a problem similar to mine where I saturate my CPU have watched it and can see when it happens.... just a thought

Re: RedQuest v5.2 (1/17/07 patch)

You haven't gotten back to me so I decided to try it out on 3 seperate systems and I had the same results on them all. I deleted the Directories of Redquest5.2.zip I had installed and reinstalled them , I also have compiled copies on all machines I get and compile with C++6.0 which I have on all machines ( been a user of my own compiled copies for a few years but like some of the features with the copies here so I run both, each in their own directories ).

With the compiled copies of MQ2-200070118.zip when I type /mapfilter object it turns objects on and off and when I type it using REDQUEST5.2.zip I get " Usage:/mapfilter [option|help] " which makes me still believe you are using a wrong copy of MQ2MAP.DLL or have a problem with the way it was compliled for this release, have not had the problem in the past.

I can run my main machine on regular MQ2 so I can see the objects I need to find in game but can't use some of the features I like and come here for, and I run Redquest copies on the other machines when I box .

Does anyone else have that problem when they type /mapfilter object in game, I know alot don't use that filter but it is nice on lots of missions.

Thank you for your time...

Re: RedQuest v5.2 (1/17/07 patch)

Just curious since I had never seen the file before in compiles... What is DSurface? The readable file of it only says:" [inject] eqgame.exe " and nothin else... clicking the DSurface icon attempts to run a prgoram similar to how MQ2 runs for me on this machine

Re: RedQuest v5.2 (1/17/07 patch)

wcfpjf: DSurface is for running MQ2Radar, made by Odessa, a rather new addition to Red's compile. I think it was added in version 4.3. Its only needed if you are going to run Radar, in which case you would start it up before EQ and let it run in the background. See the thread about MQ2Radar for a writeup of what it can do and how (think the link to it is on the first page of this thread).

If you don't use the radar, then you can just ignore DSurface.

Re: RedQuest v5.2 (1/17/07 patch)

Having problems with MQ2Melee. /melee commands dont seem to be working. If I type a melee command such as /melee taunt=off, I get /domelee taunt=off. This has no affect anyone have this problem or suggestions? Also my MQChat window has merged with my general chat, need help fixing that too. Any help appreciated.
