I always forget about the discount. Better to krono up and then buy the expac. Thanks for the reminder.

From what I've seen on the beta forums, this expansion is absolutely no where near release stage, let alone in a couple weeks.

Same old crap every year, they are never actually "ready" to release, this year is same as previous years. lots of "broken" raids and high hp mobs etc, they will just make them easier so 40 guilds can clear it again. wish they would have another mearatas for T3 tbh

I’ve never had a max level character on love before, until recently.

What should I expect with the launch of the new expansion on the 3rd?

Or is it really nothing big? Just some new zones and content same as before with some achievements added?

This xpac will be pretty small unfortunately.

Few new zones, few missions, do Merc/partisans/hunters etc

what MQ hygiene and preparation activities do we need to do
1. download and install TOB version of Brewalls Maps
2. updates zones.ini
3. update shiny.ini for ToB collectibles
4. get latest meshgen for ToB Navigation
5. ...

It is a horrendous concept. Petitions is going to multiply by a significant factor.
Named lockout by AFK groups
Warping to steal named
General asshattery around named
Selling named credit
Lag yay we love that

Since this also influences raids there is a motive to keep named locked out.
Then after a while its going to become avoid this expansion since the debuff is a pita. And here is the kicker the combat engine now has to cater for this debuff/buff, not like they have an already overloaded combat engine and have being reducing proc's for the last 2 years.. right ? Oh forgot to mention if this doesn't go to song window have fun managing your 42 slots of buffs that you may have one of them probably saying bye bye with this nonsense (yes lots of people have 42 buffs running, especially during burns)

15 minutes is rather significant but to your question topend is usually nec/mage/rog,rng (if humanoids)/mnk/ber (not that many play anymore), the 6% difference just skews it into the caster direction once again. So "melee sucks to be you" is the message.

What I expect to happen, beta it is implemented but nobody can activate it since need named hunting.
Dec Live playersl love it and expansion raids is even more of a joke
Jan/Feb Devs realize its a huge mistake but meh vacation
March/April first nerf lowering damage or making it a pita to use or npc not casting the debuff for "reasons"
July+ It gets nerfed into the ground that it is not even worth clicking the button

PS: during LS I lost my named credits had to go redo 2 zones, nobody could explain what happened and it is not possible for CS to give credit.
I think we only will find out what really will happen with this new mechanic only during live

they will leave raids unfinished, leave beta open until the fri before raids hit, focus on open content.. same as last year :(
tier1 raids opens January ? in December they change/fix t1 then go on holiday
t2 feb open, t3 march open. fix t2/t3 raids and claim nobody reported anything in beta.

at least that is my experience. and if they don't feel like it they leave is halfassed broken and say they worked so hard during the year real fixes will be later in the year.

The Outer Brood

Welcome to EverQuest: The Outer Brood, the 31st expansion for EverQuest!

High in the sky over the hills of the long-ignored Hodstock Hills looms a massive behemoth. A creature so large that it appears to have an entire castle fortress on its back. Terrifying monsters fly down from that fortress. Huge reptiles with massive, deadly claws, fangs, and too many limbs. These beasts wield magic never seen on Norrath nor by any Norrathian. These creatures, dubbed the Outer Brood by the elders of the Circle of the Crystalwing, speak a form of Elder Dragon that even the oldest of dragons barely understand. Can you lead the charge against such danger, one that has caused even the fiercest elders of the dragon clans to hesitate?

  • Learn new spells, combat abilities, and alternate abilities.
  • Find new items and learn new tradeskill recipes.
  • Explore six new zones.
  • Participate in new raids and quests.
  • Complete new achievements.
  • Gain a new Activated Item Key Ring.
    • Activated Items are items that can be activated but are not consumables, mounts, teleportation items, illusions, familiars, nor scrolls.
  • Join the fight as a Dark Elf Ranger and become one of the Premier Hunters for the Tier`Dal Race.
  • To start, enter Hodstock Hills through the East Freeport docks area, or through the river tunnel in Nektulos Forest.

Items

  • In honor of the new Dark Elf Ranger race and class combination, Dark Elf heritage crates are available on the marketplace for a limited time.
  • Added an Activated option to the Type section when searching for items via the Bazaar and Find Item windows.
  • Added a new key ring tab for activated items.
  • Expired real estate plots will now send a second eviction notice 3 days before eviction, via in-game mail and chat message, to both owner and co-owners.

Miscellaneous

  • Updated /cast to work with the current max amount of spell slots.
  • Added Dark Elf Ranger as a race/class combination. Spread hate and honor Innoruuk in your hunts.
  • Added an option to find a corpse from the Advanced Loot window when right clicking on the corpse's name in the list.
  • Corrected an issue with area of effect archery abilities not including the effects from Increase Range Damage for all affected targets.
  • Corrected an issue with raid and group marked NPCs displaying the incorrect version of their name.

Are we getting another spell slot? Given the /cast line item above?

Are we getting another spell slot? Given the /cast line item above?
Scene: meeting in a smoky room
Manager: we need something to motivate people to buy the expansion
Dev1: lots of new zones
Dev2: upgrade previous spells or AA like we do every expansion
Dev3: new aa ability or awesome quest
Beancounter: those will cost too much
Investor: my profits !
Dev2: well we could give them an extra spellslot? going to take a bit of time as the codebase is such a mess
Dev1: NO that means every custom UI will have to be adjusted !
Dev3: Layouts that people are using will look awful
Manager: Let it be so, that is a groundbreaking addition
Dev2: /thinks to self. Yes another year that I can slack off and do nothing. Spreadsheets and automation ftw.

Dev1 talking to Dev3: We need to find new jobs

Anyone else mess with the missions yet? Finished Paragon last night on one group so far. Two were cake walks, two were...very very ugly wins that I'm not too confident on repeating with regularity without figuring out some mechanics better.

Just do Hodstock Hills quest arc.. have rk 1 in less then a hour..
as a bard main, still going to want to do the hunters for the heroic AA mana regen. It's just that the respawn is so slow and the mob density is also very low...I could probably hold down the entire zone worth of camps and my DPS with my odd group is only averaging 4mil. This expansion is way undertuned, at least in the t1 zones. I shouldn't be falling asleep or looking for something else to do waiting on respawn.

I was pointing out, just to get the rk 1 is easy. Everyone does hunters, and most servers have raids that run and swap people in and out. thats still boring time~

Worth getting a raid up to speed this expansion? Debating whether or not to wait until next lvl increasing expansion.

Y'all are using a lot of words. Can I get a rating between 1-10 on this expansion?

solid 3..

That's not too bad, when you grade them on the DBG curve.

Grading on an EQ curve, 8. Smooth launch, fun quests, fun zones, fun missions. No huge bugs that I've found. I wish it had more content.

Here's a vid of me doing one of the new missions, which I think is my favorite mission since the Crusaders in CoV.

I marked it a 3 just because lack of content. Even hand players have burnt through and not even a week in. The art is $$$$, general quest are fun and not to much running around, open bosses and missions are challenging, but not over the top.. but by the end of the month, unless you are duo with a merc, only thing left will be level'n ring.
