FAQ
Q. The UI Window Doesn't save my settings?
- A. This is intentional. The UI acts as a "hot swap" allowing you to adjust on the fly. If you want to "save" your settings, adjust it with the slash command.
- Explained here > UI Video @ 9:10 <
Q. My UI window isn't saving the location
- A. > CWTN UI Video < follow these steps:
- 1. move it to where you want it
- 2. close the window
- 3. /shm show to reshow it - eq will now have the window saved
Q. How do I load the shm window?
- A. /shm show
Q. Does this work for all levels?
- A. Yes.
Q. Why does my shaman not buff the group?
- A. You will need to run /plugin mq2cwtnbuffs load on all of your characters that you would like mq2shaman to buff. You also need to NOT be in /shm byos on mode. As "Bring Your Own Spells" assumes you want to handle your spells and your buffs. MQ2CWTNBuffs requires characters to be local characters (same PC, not across network or space/time).
Q. Shaman is chain casting something?
- A. There are a few lower lvl / mid level buffs that eq/mq2 reports stack that do not, or will chain overwrite other buffs and you get into a buffing contest with another toon. You either have this situation or some other issues. I would suggest checking for the red error text that eq gives you to tell you WHY it didn't successfully take hold and then go from there. You can block anything you don't want cast. This is a built-in EverQuest feature - right-click on the buff and "add this spell to list of blocked spells" or go through the eq menu -> character -> blocked buffs
- EQ Menu -> Character -> Blocked Buffs
- EQ Menu -> Character -> Blocked Pet Buffs (to add to anyone's pet blocked spells)
- This is particularly a problem with the focus line, especially if you have a large level gap between the shm and your bst/clr (particularly if your shm is lower than the bst/cleric) - you can run into issues where mq2 says that it will stack, but then your armor of line will not actually allow it. Or the Wulthan Focusing portion of Talisman of the Wulthan doesn't stack with the cleric Armor of ___ line, so you need to block "Wulthan Focusing Rk. III" on your cleric, if you do the Rk. III it will block all ranks from you.
Q. I don't want the plugin to cast xyz buff on a toon.
- A. Any buff you don't want cast upon someone, you would just have that character add it to their blocked buffs.
- EQ Menu -> Character -> Blocked Buffs
- EQ Menu -> Character -> Blocked Pet Buffs (to add to anyone's pet blocked spells)
Q. I am having an issue with a Mage Aura and Shaman Unity line.
- A. The Mammoth's Force line from the shaman's focus line of spells and the Mage Aura don't stack. If your aura fades, or your pet gets out of range of the aura your shaman is going to say "Woah, we're missing 1 part of this buff, and then cast it on your pet. I recommend if you run around with a mage, to block the appropriate Mammoth's Force for your version of STFocus - at 115 that would be "Mammoth's Force III", blocking "Mammoth's Force" wouldn't be correct in this instance.
Q. My shaman keeps recasting Regen line (Talisman of the Enduring)?
- A. If you are 101+ you shouldn't have UseRegen on - dicho/dissi/composite overwrites your talisman regen line, which will make you recast your regen buff after every fight.
Q. UseGrowth?
- A. If you have an SK or a Paladin tank, you should turn off UseGrowth as they have their own personal version which doesn't stack.
Q. I don't like the spell lineup.
- A. You can "Bring your own spells" with /shm byos on
Q. Why am I Not Pulling XYZ mob?
- A. Not pulling a mob is almost always an issue either with your Navmesh or your pull settings. If you do a /shm debugpull on once and it will cycle 1 time and spit out in your mq2 window all the mobs and why you are not pulling them. Compare the output with the mobs you think you should be pulling and it will tell you why. This will notify you if you have no nav path, or out of zradius, or regular radius, or on ignore, etc.
Q. Why am I using Dissident over Composite?.
- A. We will use Dissident if you are wearing tbl/tov raid t1/t2 bp after feb 12th, 2021 as the tbl/tov raid bp gives you double duration on your dissident.
Q. My shaman only slows the MA's Target?
- A. This is correct. We currently don't, and don't have plans to target around to slow at this time. We will likely eventually change around which slows are used for the memorized slow spells to mimic the useslow and useaoe slow (as those currently just function for AAs).
Q. Shaman is putting a small bag on the ground?!
- A. Shaman Squall line places a bag on the ground where the spell originates from - this is an EQ thing.
Q. My shaman is meleeing in assist mode - I only want to heal.
- A.
/shm UseMelee off
Q. How can I get it to break invis to heal?
- A. MQ2Shaman will break invis to heal if a camp is set - so mode 1 would break invis to heal, where mode 0 would not.
Q. What is stance?
- A. Stance are options for what kind of spell lineup to load automagically. currently: 0 is heal focused, 1 is hybrid heal/dps, and 2 is dps
(Stance change your spell loadout, not behavior)
Q. Languid Bite?
- A. If you have Languid Bite toggled on - we will momentarily toggle it off if we try and use Turgur's Virulent Swarm, and then toggle it back.
Q. Root Punt / Paralysis AA?
- A. We won't be doing any punting of mobs. It can quickly turn into a bad time if you're punting mobs around.
Q. Spirit of Urgency / Inconspicuous Totem?
- A. We try and avoid automatic usage of abilities that might cause undesirable outcomes; Spirit Urgency is one of them. It taunts and memblurs and this might cause you to have issues. Same with Incon Totem - this mezzes you for a minute and makes you invis and such.
Q. I don't want swarm pets?
- A. No problemo, We have a toggle for both "Visionary Unity" and "Spirit Call"
- You can adjust "Visionary Unity" with /shm UseVisionaryUnity
- You can adjust "Spirit Call" with /shm UseSpiritCall.
Q. I have UseNuke off but I still use GiftDD?
- A. We use GiftDD for the twincast proc. If you turn off UseSquall you will treat it as a regular nuke respecting usenuke. (as discussed in the next FAQ question).
Q. What if i don't want to squall?
- A. We reluctantly added UseSquall - you can toggle it off if you don't want to squall.
- if UseSquall is on "Will use Squall Line (and GiftDD to proc twincast). Does not let a twincast go to waste if squall is ready."
- if UseSquall is off we will treat GiftDD like a regular nuke as far as "when, where, how, and why"
Q. Why am I not using GiftDD or Squall?
- A. You need to ensure you have your MA set - and if you're in "/shm RaidMode on" that you have your RaidMA assigned in your raid window, and in your "/shm RaidAssist #"
Q. Trying to go mode 1 but says I need a mesh?
- A. The plugins require mq2nav for movement. You will need to run the mesh updater in your RedGuide's Launcher. Please watch the video > HERE <
Q. Do I need to assign what Xtargets to watch for XTargetHealing?
- A. Nope - Just toggle on UseXTargetHealing and it will check all your Extended Targets to see if they are PCs and then heal them at the NotMA # you have
Q. Why no mending line at high level?
- A. Once you get into levels where you have 2 reckless, mending underperforms and just doesn't fit into how we want to do things. You can BYOS if you want to use it, but we're not going to have it part of the loadout.
Q. Do I need to assign what Xtargets to watch for XTargetBuffing?
- A. Nope - Just toggle on UseXTargetBuffing and it will check all your Extended Targets to see if they are PCs and then buff them (they still need to be running mq2cwtnbuffs and be local)
Q. It isn't rezzing out of combat - Rejuvenation of Spirit AA?!
- A. Keep in mind, Rejuvenation of Spirit requires out of combat AND fast regen, not just out-of-combat. This also requires your UI to ACTUALLY have the fast regen information, because this is where mq2 gets your combat state from. If you don't report back correct information when you /echo ${Me.CombatState} then you might want to consider updating your UI. Otherwise, we don't know you are in fast regen.
Q. Epic 1.5/2.0?
- A. We automatically use your 1.5/2.0 - for MQ2Shaman it has the option of /shm shmepic 0, 1, 2 for never, burn only, combat.
Q. My plugin says it's out of date since I patched.
- A. For Live: Check the plugins tab of your VV launcher. For Emu/Test: it is automatically downloaded when you update.
Q. I sometimes get stuck in my spellbook?
- A. This is often due to your background fps not being high enough. It is strongly advised to utilize at LEAST 30 fps for background, recommended 60+ background fps. The fps cycle for eq is where "work" is done. If your background fps is set to "min" you can and will have undesired results with all sorts of automation activities.
- Alt-O -> Display -> Advanced - > Max Background FPS
- You will also need to check if you are using any external background fps limiting software - like isboxer - and adjust that accordingly.
